Book Lab: Neecy and Nay Nay and the Green Thumbs
Albany Public Library

Visitors and locals alike are invited to join KinCultivate’s Book Lab for a free, interactive afternoon of reading, storytelling, and hands-on fun with author Simone “Neecy” Dankenbring. This family-friendly series connects elementary-age children and their families with books through themed activity stations, crafts, and creative exploration.

In this session, celebrate reading with twin sisters Neecy and Nay Nay as they embark on a garden adventure filled with soil, silliness, and a bit of mischief. Neecy and Nay Nay and the Green Thumbs follows the twins from composting and planting to a runaway worm mishap, all while learning lessons about family, friendship, and growing something new. Children can meet the author, explore garden-themed stations, and take home activities to keep the reading going long after the event. Recommended for elementary-age students, though all are welcome.

About the Author
Simone “Neecy” Dankenbring has lived her entire life as an identical twin, with childhood adventures serving as the backdrop for the Neecy and Nay Nay series. She lives in Sweet Home, Oregon, with her husband, Jeff, and their two dogs, Bo and Zoie. Her many interests include writing, singing, creative arts, and gardening. When she isn’t digging in the dirt or dancing in the rain, she blogs and writes for inspiration. Her work has been published in magazines and online outlets. Fascinated by all things medical, she enjoys learning about and even watching surgeries online. Simone continues to work on more adventures for Neecy and Nay Nay, along with future books.
